Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico in a family who was devoted to music. As a child, she was inspired by Boleros, classical music and the more traditional romantic, ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos, as well as drama and opera. Following her singing lessons with mom and sister, she began more intense training in vocals at age 16, under the direction of the renowned Mexican tenor FlavioBecerra. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a young student and professional, she performed with many chamber groups and opera choruses throughout Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. After moving into America, United States, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002, she made her way to Southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private functions and as a member Ensemble XXI in Redlands. As a teacher and musician she has volunteered for many projects in the community because of her passion and love for music. Ana is also a previous part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able bring to others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes this can help younger generations continue the tradition.
